Ryan Malloy

Ryan Malloy has created one of the most interesting musical projects that I have ever heard. He combines crazy Govan style shredding with almost Jack White-ish garage rock. The music is defined by it's simplicity with only a guitar and vocals Malloy has to work hard to get a full sound. This leads to some of the most creative music I have heard in months. The guitar work is phenomenal with some great solos coming in and proving Malloy's guitar skill. Then his guitar riffs support the verses and have a raw garage rock feel to them. My only issue is that occasionally the song structures seem off and upset my ear. The vocals are very good and feel extremely untreated and are very human. They are not the greatest yet this gives them humanity and makes them much easier to relate too. Overall Ryan Malloy is a great singer-songwriter who writes some of the most creative music out there. I strongly recommend checking him out.
