Rituals

Rituals is a pretty trippy metal band in a similar vein to bands like... oh wait no... there are no bands quite like this one. They have a sound that is wholly unique, and wholly their own, and that is really cool. Rituals is a band that proves there still is new stuff to be done in metal. The guitar work is pretty simple, almost dronish, but it gives off a very nice ambient vibe, and the solos are rather tasty. The bass work is pretty straightforward and adds a lot to the drone feel of the tracks, which is pretty cool. I have to say that the drums upset me a bit, the repeated fills are a bit much and I think the tracks could do with a tad more variety there. The keyboards really help to fill out the ambinet sound with all sorts of great atmospheric bits. Finally we have the vocals which have a trippy 60s psychedelia vibe which is VERY cool. Overall, Rituals is an excellent band and unlike anything you've ever heard before, go check 'em out!

  1. Your review intrigued me so I went and found them on Facebook...btw a link would have been good (facebook.com/ritualsindy for anyone who's curious but too lazy to look on your own). They're definitely different but I don't know that I agree with the whole "60s psychedelia vibe" thing. Whatever though they have a new fan.
