Morbid Flesh

Any band who put "Metal of Death" in their band description on Facebook is worth listening too, and you can quote me on that. Morbid Flesh prove their worth right off the bat with a powerful and exciting new record, appropriately titled Embedded in the Ossuary (Don't ask why it's appropriate, it's just awesome) featuring some of the most hard hitting metal madness I've heard in a while. Yet, there is also a more atmospheric and melodic side to the Morbid Flesh sound as evidenced on tracks like Charnel House which has a very impressive brifdge passage and some wonderful soloing. My one complaint is that it feels like in a lot of cases the song, and the whole record, are not long enough to fully communicate the majesty of this group. Nevertheless, if you like death metal with a melodic twist to contrast brutal riffs, then this is the record for you. Morbid Flesh are engaging because they bring in sharp 90 degree turns into a world that is normally straightforward and brutal. Hearing them evolve should be interesting, so let down your hair and dive into the pit!
