I don't know what it is about grindcore that has me still listening after all these years. Especially given stuff like Iniquitous Savagery's gut wrenching Subversions of the Psyche that revels in a Prostitute Difigurement-like sense of utter brutality. Stripped down and raw, there is something strangely and inherently appealing about what Iniquitous Savagery do on this record and it will get folks grinding in the free world for years to come. What I'm trying to say is that Iniquitious Savagery grind it right.
One of the things that really gets me about this band is their use of melodic lines, especially in the breakdowns. Sure things remain utterly brutal and very evil, but there is a sense of frenzy to riffs on tracks like Transient States Of Metaphysical Revelation that only helps to increase the brutality and provides a fitting counterpoint to the depth of the breakdowns. The growls too are utterly guttural, scraping the bottom and leaving you grasping for the last few strands of your sanity that remain. When these guys want to get balls out heavy they just go ahead and tear your balls off, and make you revel in the pain.
There are a few nifty touches here asides from the hyperspeed and techy riffs though. There are moments that seem almost reminiscent of bands like Suicide Silence, the groove is palatable and it reflects the bands desire to utterly crush the listener. The deeper you delve into Iniquitious Savagery's ungodly sonic assault the harder it is to turn around and go home. This is the kind of grind that sucks you up and refuses to spin you out. So if you're looking for the heaviest and most fucked up shit around... well then this might be your best bet.
