Limb - Terminal

Limb are one of those bands borne of sin and desperation. This is probably what makes their latest full length Terminal so goddamn good. Featuring the former drummer of Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Limb have put together their best record yet on the sludgy and occasionally esoteric and stripped down sounds of Terminal. The band is clearly starting to find their own sound in a crowded scene, and as you reach into the guts of this record, you realize that Limb are turned on to something with the potential to be magical.

The ominous crush of this band is really only rivaled by Uncle Acid, but beyond that Limb are able to fuse their pseudo-occult vibes with the fucked up humanity of Eyehategod. Despite that, Limb manage to also bring in enough classic rock that even fans of more traditional music should find something to groove too here. Toss in a few eerie synthesizer moments (My favorite is during the scary and chuggy bridge of the album closer, Cocytus) and you have yourself a record with a distinct flavor and a dedication to sublime evil that few of the bands peers will ever truly be able to match. They're simply that invested in the sound.

Bringing together a variety of elements, but still not necessarily as evolved as they need to be to take the world by storm I am genuinely excited by what Limb have to offer. They are yet another very cool band in a very cool scene. Limb are scary good, and the deeper you fall into their chugs and moans the more you realize what sort of madcap reality they have been able to craft for themselves. Let Terminal grab you by your hair and carry you to your death, if you're anything like me, you will never regret it.
