Michael O'Neil

Today I am reviewing a pretty decent solo artist called Michael O'Neil. He has a really nice blues sound. He records everything on this album by himself so the album ends up having a nice calm acoustic type sound. There is some experimentation on this album as well. The guitar is very interesting, it is pretty standard blues and folk guitar however there are some changes that make it into it's own unique thing. The use of the slide is very nice and emphasis there helps to make the songs sound unique. The guitar on the folksy songs is nothing special just some good chords. The singing is pretty good and an amazing effort. I really like this guys voice. The scottish accent that O'Neil keeps while singing adds a great feel to the music. This guy is no metal artist, he is just a lonely brilliant folk artist who will have to fight to get signed, but if he does he can be a folk god.
OVERALL 8.5/10
