I Can't Explain It

I Can't Explain it is a hardcore band with a rather interesting sound. At first the music starts out atonal and bizarre yet as you listen to this band the riffs start to come out at you and there is a very nice cohesion to everything on the record. For me the most impressive part about this group is the riffs which are often fairly atonal yet somehow catchy and give the songs life, but also a unique flavor. The bass lines are fairly solid and while not spectacular there are definitely times where the heavy bass makes the music awesome. The drum work is relatively light and there is not a lot of double bass 16th note insanity ripping your face off. Instead drums with a lower tempo help give the music an odd feel because the tempo seems way to low for riffs featuring this much distortion. Then we have the growls, wherein lies my sole complaint. They are done in the style of some hardcore punk bands and they just don't please me. I suppose they go along alright with the style of music but it just is not my thing. Overall I Can't Explain it is a very good and straightforward hardcore band that is unique enough to be flavorful.
OVERALL 8.5/10
