The Silent Divide

The Silent Divide is a cool prog band from Texas with a sound that nicely combines deathcore riffing with the traditional prog ethos. Their music is at once atmospheric and brutal and overall, simply wonderful to listen to. The guitar work is very solid and comes across as a more brutal Dream Theater, with perhaps a djent influence or two in there. The technique is certainly good and it really gets the listener going. The bass work is thuddy and even a little muddy in the mix. However it definitely is given it's chance to thrive on some of the heavier riffs. The drumming is actually pretty excellent and chock full o innovative fills. It is quite fun to listen too. In conclusion, The Silent Divide is a fairly awesome new prog band that you really might want to check out!
