Altimira

Altimira is a nifty groove metal band from New York. Their music is fast and vicious yet it has a more refined side to it that helps open up the bands appeal. The music is very tight overall and I find that the drumming is really stellar. The guitars are also rather technical, I think this a nod to their thrash metal heroes Megadeth. Overall, this is a band that knows how to execute with no problems. Their songwriting is great too, the tracks have an almost epic aura to them and they allow for maximum headbanging. I would also like to point out that the lyrics are pretty wonderful. They have a nice angry Pantera edge to them. Yet their are also cleans, which while well executed feel a bit out of place. In conclusion, Altimira is a lot of fun and definitely worth moshing too. Go check them out!
