OverDrive is a fun classic heavy metal band from Romania who have created their own brand of tightly polished hard rock that shines in a steel glory above their countrymen. With an often epic sound that is reminiscent of Iron Maiden OverDrive have more than their fair share of epic choruses and fun guitarmonies. The vocal attack is surprisingly harsh though and lacks some of the bombast the guitars might suggest. With their down to earth vibe they firmly ground the bands music in reality. They stop them from trying to take off on a dragons back and dominate the world. Instead OverDrive have a harsh and forward pushing might that crushes the listener under a slew of heavy riffing. With touches of modern elements and bits from the sounds of bands like Avenged Sevenfold, the silvery sheen of their stellar production is really allowed to shine through.
