Fredericks Metal is an interesting thrash metal project from Jon Fredericks of New Minas. The tracks are all instrumental and very good, they stay interesting by using some tasty leads and flashy fills. As a whole the riffs are also pretty enjoyable, I particularly like the hard and fast playing on songs like All For Nothing. I'd like to point out though that the music could be greatly improved with some vocals, I think it would add a lot of flavor to the songs. Even though they work as instrumentals I can just HEAR some Randy Blythe styled growls roaring over top of some of these riffs. At the same time, some of the songs, like Hold Them Back might actually be hurt by the addition of vocals. As a whole though Fredericks Metal is a great lisen and something many fans of hard rock and metal will enjoy. So if you're in the market for some cool instrumental thrash metal from a musician who is starting to really come into his own then Fredericks Metal is definitely something you're going to want to check out!
