Dick Venom & The Terrortones

Somewhere along the line, in that weird period that we collectively refer to as the 90s, rock and roll lost its raw hedonism, that adolescent and primal magic that made so much rock worth listening to. When that crazed youth vamoosed we were left in a vacuum only filled by shoegaze musicians. Now, while shoegaze is good, can it really match the madness of the MC5 or The Troggs? This is why we have Dick Venom and the Terrortones, they are here to restore our sense of rock and roll with fun and bombastic music that gets to your gut and reminds us what rock and roll should really be about. Their new single Invasion of the Spider Queen/Planet of the Honeyfuzz represents the filth and grime that need to accumulate to create something as glorious as these guys have made. An image heavy band who know exactly what they want to do Dick Venom & The Terrortones could very well lead a return to straight up rock and roll, and none of this vest metal stuff, but pure, unadulterated, unapologetic Iggy Pop inspired punk. Check them out!
