Well here we go, a blazing melodic death metal band from Sweden who take all of In Flames glory and Dark Tranquility's raw power to create something that's pretty much as good as the sum of its parts? Yes please! A might melodeath group who are not afraid to add a few metalcore elements into their music (their clean vocalist can actually sing, don't worry). Yet what impresses me the most about Taketh is the way their hard hitting melodeath attack simply goes for the throat, immediately ripping your ears out with songs like Moving On. Yet the clean vocal parts are perfectly fitted in and actually add a lot of flavor to the songs, they don't come across as whiny and obnoxious as most bands might make them. In other words, these guys have been together for like 13 years and somewhere in that time they learned how to really write songs, to a level that I rarely see anymore. So if you're looking for a band who have paid their dues and really deserve to be brought to the next level, then Taketh's melodic death metal mastery is definitely something you're going to want to check out!
