There will always be a place in my heart for pure face ripping death metal in the vein of Suffocation or Cannibal Corpse, there is no doubt about that. So when a band comes out and rips so hard that your face hurts what are you going to say? Disfigured Dead are one of those ripping bands who leave the listener speechless in awe of the incredible metal assault that the group can have. With their new record Relentless Disfigured Dead prove their early promise on their way to what could very well be death metal domination. Songs like God Forgives, I Don't reflect the sheer heaviness that this band is known for going for. Yet Disfigured Dead are not just about the brutal side of death metal. Their are a lot of highly technical parts here that simply blow the mind. One particular favorite of mine is in the intro passage of Baneful Barbarity which shows all that the groups guitarists are capable of. So, if you want a band who are more than just death metal, and who understand the essence of the roots of genre then Disfigured Dead is the group for you.
