Whats this? More French metal? Oh boy! Now I bring you Morgue, a grinding powerviolence band from the suburbs of Ales. These guys are not afraid to make ear decimating metal with no fists pulled, instead Morgue have a flare for the aggressive neverending beatdown. Tracks like Demonic Incarnate show the potential these guys have, and this is just a taste of whats to come! Morgue don't do powerviolence like other bands, there is a sense of something greater, more powerful found throughout this bands music, as if they are trying to make a larger societal point. Some of that may be due to the fact these guys have been around since 1997, so they certainly have had a little practice. Their discography is pretty big and the few recordings they have online make me want to dig deeper into them, I'd love to hear the development of a band this 'out there'. In short, this is a metal band who do their own thing, proudly and furiously, their songs are vicious, yet somehow simultaneously esoteric, grabbing you by the ear and slowly beating you to a pulp. I for one think that maybe one day Morgue can get the recognition they deserve.
