What is in a name? Brutiful certainly seem to have a good handle on it. Their name perfectly calls forth what Brutiful stands for, brutal death metal that has a strange and unearthly beauty to it. Meanwhile, the unholy magic of songs like Messiahnide prove that death metal still has a lot to say, even within the strictures of the old school. The grinding power of this band is incredible and the sheer might behind their riffs is glorious. The crazed drum playing helps to add a layer of blasphemous death metal evil into the mix and keeps things dark and destructive. Sure they may not have a lot of material up right now but the potential is clear. Brutiful deliver pure and unadulterated no holds barred death metal and that is all there is to it. So if you want a band who will grind your bones to powder and make your disembodied head look on in terror then this is clearly the band for you. For those of you who have yet to learn to accept death metal demos as a form of high art then I pity you, for the magic of Brutiful and bands like them desperately needs more followers.
