Prey on the Fallen-S/T

Here we go! Searing hard rock right out of LA this is the kind of hard rock and roll madness that restores my faith in modern metal. Their new self titled debut release is a potent record, filled with roaring guitar parts, soaring vocals, and an explosive rhythm attack that just won't let up. See Prey on the Fallen represents a band who are more than just modern hard rock. These guys mix in elements of thrash to help get a supercharged sound that grabs you by the juggular and refuses to let go. Capable of beating your skull in with its metal madness, Prey on the Fallen have created something grand.

I really appreciate the guitar playing, halfway between hard rock and thrash metal it provides a blaring way forward for the band. Sure the riffs aren't always super original but by God are they fun to listen too. Another key part of the group is the bands explosive lead singer, his voice lends a certain vicious quality to the music and keeps things interesting, but accessible. One of the best aspects of this record is how good it sounds. That is to say, the production is simply stellar. It really allows the songs to shine and be the best that they can be. As a last note, their cover of Hotel California is simply magnificent. It clearly showcases Prey on The Fallen's unique musical style while paying tribute to one of the worlds greatest rock ballads.

In conclusion, Prey on the Fallen is a collection of ten rocking and rolling tracks that will keep your head banging until your neck snaps off. Accessible and fun to listen to, these guys have a clear idea of what they want to do with their sound. Sure the songs seem a bit clunky here and there, but with another release things should be cleared up pretty well. What makes this album special for me is that this band pays tribute to their musical ancestors yet they are not stagnating. So, if you want one of the best, most exciting, and simply passionate modern metal releases to come out in recent years then Prey on the Fallen's new record is the album for you.
