Conjonctive Interview

Here's one interview, this time with the Swiss blackened deathcore masters in Conjonctive. I reviewed their debut record Until the Whole World Dies a few weeks ago, and these guys are just starting to break through. If you want a band who provide a unique and totally metal listening experience then Conjonctive is the band for you!

Be sure to like them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/conjonctive?fref=ts

What is the driving force behind the band?
Sickness, hate, sex, injure and abuse.

What inspires your lyrics?
Such pretty things like sickness, apocalypse, raping stories, horror movies or even incest. The best would be to read our lyrics to your children or during Thanksgiving dinner, I’m sure they will appreciate it.

What kind of message are you trying to spread?
We don’t try to spread any message, we only want to tell the truth. Our world is dying, people are getting more and more sick year after year. It’s only a question of time until our civilization comes to an end. Conjonctive is the messenger of God and Satan until the world dies.

You have a pretty unique sound, how did that develop?
Our main influences are deathcore bands like Whitechapel, Carnifex, Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder, but a large part of the band is also fan of other metal bands like Behemoth or event Slipknot & Rob Zombie. I think that our unique sound comes from from this mix of influences.

How did you get a band with male and female growls?
At the beginning we had two male singers, but the other one had to quit the band and at the same period, my friend Sonia was looking for a new band. We tried and it was perfect. We like the beauty and the beast feeling. It’s also a good balance for our rape and revenge lyrics!

How do you feel about your new record now that its been out for a few weeks?
I think we released a really good album and I’m happy to see that people think the same. It’s also a pleasure when we read that a large part of our fans think we have an unique sound. We will try to develop this in the future.

What is the future of Conjonctive?
We are working on our first official music video. We will shoot this between January and February 2014. If you like things like Christmas and Jesus, you will like this new video. We also have a lot of shows for 2014 including a few festivals and an opening for Biohazard.

How do you think you will develop musically over the years to come?
If someone expects to hear clean vocals or a love song on our next album, he had better cut his throat and vomit his guts. Conjonctive will always stay a brutal band and our next record will be sick as fuck.

What do you love so much about music?
I like to spread love around me during the shows. Share the beautiful stories of our lyrics with our fans. But I also like booze before/after our shows!
