Driven Under

Euro-thrash has always captured my imagination as a singularly destructive genre. I always find myself getting lost in grooves that remind me of my high school years in Paris. In a way it's extremely nostalgic for me to come across a band like Driven Under who remain rough around the edges and need a fair bit of polish yet maintain a fairly distinct and fun sound. There is something about bands like Driven Under that reflects the power of the underground and gives you a chance to fall in love with it all over again. Sure, there isn't anything especially new here, although the melodic choruses are a VERY nice touch (And done rather tastefully too) but instead Driven Under's new EP Hands In Chains simply adds to the canon. There is an all encompassing sense of wonder here that makes you smile and bend the knee to the almighty power of this kind of music. Driven Under get what the thrash metal underground is about, so prepare for them to choke slam you into the dirt.
