Gorod - A Maze Of Recycled Creeds

I'm a little upset that I missed this up until now - apparently the new Gorod has just been sitting in my inbox and I've only just gotten around to listening to it - and by God does it rip. France's best tech death band (And quite realistically one of the best tech death bands in the world) has pushed the boundary further than ever with A Maze Of Recycled Creeds proving that Gorod remain masters of the genre. Perhaps their most exciting and most potent record yet there is something truly special to the pure sonic annihilation found on A Maze Of Recycled Creeds.

Jazzy as ever Gorod still expand their musical pallet on A Maze Of Recycled Creeds by bringing in new vocal stylings and more angular riffs than ever. Every Gorod record has had a specific flavor and A Maze Of Recycled Creeds is no exception. That being said - the punishing grooves and mind boggling sweeps remind us that Gorod is still Gorod - and while their sound may develop from record to record they will always remain the intensely brainy and ridiculously satisfying band that made them so darn successful in the first place. It's easy to get lost in the powerful soundscapes that define this record and it's stunning to see how easily Gorod have transcended the tech death genre - at this point I think it might be safe to say that Gorod are so different and so distinct in their sound that they have no true peers.

The sense of artistry behind A Maze Of Recycled Creeds is stunning and I get the impression that when this record drops in three days it's going to have a huge impact on the global scene. Gorod - while they might not have revolutionized tech death they have certainly pushed it into a whole new dimension. Simply put - these guys are one of the most exciting bands in all of music and their decisions to push the boundaries of what can even be considered music is incredible and leaves you wondering what more madness Gorod could one day unleash upon the earth.
