The time has come to experience the power of the Temple Of Khronos. This latest album from Spire is a masterwork, chilling in its overarching conception and jaw dropping in execution. Spire have found a way to build on classic black metal ideas and bring you howling into the abyss with their unique and blasphemous take on the genre. There is something wonderfully terrifying about the tormented way that they unveil this evil and it's a delight to really sink your teeth into the madness that they have pieced together here.
Temple Of Khronos impresses with the breadth of its conception. The masses that shout together on a track like 'Hymn II - Tormentor' goes above and beyond that of mere gang vocals. Meanwhile, the bitter hate that they spew throughout the album will leave you scraping your jaw off the floor. It sees the band unveiling madness at a thousand miles an hour and continually proving that their unique layers of black metal torment are distinctly appealing and powerful utterances into a void that seems to no longer care for them. For those of us who remain loyal to the underground it's a rare treat that will make for an addictive listening experience.
Sentient Ruin has once again dug up a great band for their label with Spire. What Spire have done is twisted and exciting, the sort of demented offering that will live long in the minds of black metal fans across the globe. These Australians have stunned this listener with their bitterness and bone breaking fury. Temple Of Khronos is a masterful offering from the band and a real testament to their skill and committment as songwriters .It's a delight to really sink your teeth into this one and I get these sense I'll be coming back to it for a very long time.
