Natt - S/T

Natt is a fascinating dark ambient project emerging from Bergen with a litany of talented creators from the cities fertile artistic community contributing. The music they craft, while instrumental, is incredibly emotionally powerful and speaks to the breadth of sounds that Natt are comfortable conjuring up. There is something wonderfully deep and expressive about their compositions. The depth of what they've crafted on this record is fascinating and it's a delight to really sink your teeth into the ongoing darkness that has crafted the bands growth.

What makes this album so exciting is the breadth of the sound. While many moments of Natt are truly subdued and spacey, every once in a while you get a massive guitar, or an acceleration of tempo where it feels like the band could suddenly crack skulls. This is part of what makes these immense compositions so delectable. Furthermore - the production is simply gorgeous. The soundscapes that they craft here are massive and it's such a delight to really let yourself get lost in these layers, trying to understand the wonderful darkness of it all. This is dark ambient music done with a sense of vision and purpose that is hard to look away from.

Natt is a fascinating listen and one that I think will reward those patient enough to lean into their long form songs and epic soundscapes. It's not an album for the faint of heart, but it is one that will appeal to the searchers, the people looking for a deeper and more exciting layer of musical magic to bring them meaning in a world where everything can feel so frustrating and pointless. Natt is a thrilling project and letting yourself get lost in what they've crafted here is far too much fun. Join me in staring into this glorious void.

Pre-order the album!
