Is there a more productive band in black metal today that Order Of Nosferat? Their newest record, Vampiric Wrath Unleashed is their fourth full length since February of 2021. Normally with a band cranking out material like that you would expect that quality to dip - but such has not been the case for the masterful German/Finnish duo. The band has continue to craft really impressive black metal that captures the imagination with its medieval vibes and bleak energy that is sure to draw in fans from all across the globe, enamored with the vampiric ministrations of this band.
Order of Nosferat impress because of the old nature of their sound. This is a band who make music that soudns and feels ancient, that taps into something darker, almost Lovecraftian in nature and forces you to come to terms with your own inherent darkness. There is a bleak wizardry behind Order of Nosferat and it feels like on this record the bands medieval tendencies have reached a new zenith. Vampiric Wrath Unleashed is unafraid to lean into its dungeon synth roots and counterbalances them with bombastic black metal, some of which, like the surprisingly hard rocking "The Abyss Of Thousand Nights" proves the bands incredible versatility!
Vampiric Wrath Unleashed is a thriller any way you slice it. It's a record that twists and turns, unveiling increasingly bleak visions of a tormented past. The monochromatic creations and musical wizardry that continues to drive the band forward has come to a new level and it's such a delight to really let yourself get lost in the darkness of what Order Of Nosferat have conjured up here. This is medieval black metal done right. It may be very nerdy, but it's also creepy and a bit uneasy, exactly the sort of thing to keep you up late into the night.
