Dikasterion - Chaos As A New World

Dikasterion is a black metallers black metal band. It's roughshod and intentionally obscure, driven forward by a real guys and glory attitude to heavy metal songwriting, with anthemic choruses and flashy solos. This isn't a record that is reinventing the steel but it is an album that is a lot of fun if you're looking for something reflects the spirit of the underground and remains compelling for its half hour run time. Amor Fati has found another excellent little gem for its pantheon and it's easy to be charmed by what Diskaterion have achieved on Chaos As A New World

This album shines because of the dungeon basement production and the breakneck performances. You get the sense that these songs were written in a musty basement with the goal of being loud and vicious, and odds are, that's exactly how they came into being. This is music that ties into so many classic aspects of the underground scene and which the band clearly had a lot of fun making. One only needs to hear the wild pick scrapes on "Across The Line" to realize exactly how wild and true Dikasterion are liable to get. It's going to kick you in the face, no matter how you slice it.

Chaos As A New World isn't necessarily full of surprises but it is a record that I think fans of the underground are going to gravitate towards as the word gets out about what's been accomplished here. Dikasterion have found a way to charm listeners with classic old school ideas and the pummelling assault that they present us is a lot of fun to really sink your teeth into. If you're ready for some vintage soudns and throat slitting nonsense, then this is the album for you!

Pre-order the album!
