The Jobe Wilson Band

OH MY GOD, THE JOBE WILSON BAND RULES! The Jobe Wilson is another one of those groups that makes going through all these groups worth it. This is Southern Rock at its fullest and is just made of awesome. Pursuing a Lynyrd Skynyrd/Allman Brothers type sound these guys make some hardcore old fashioned rock n roll. The guitars are pure southern rock. The riff in Dark Horse Rck & Roll is one of the greatest riffs I have heard ever. It reeks of Sweet Home Alabama yet it somehow... overcomes the shadow of that song and creates its own beautiful thing. The solos on this record are also sick, they remind me a lot of Duane Allman in their style. The bass also has some pretty decent riffs, a good example of this is again found in the track Dark Horse Rock & Roll. The drums are pretty light and simple, but thats the norm for this genre so its perfectly cool. The vocals in this group are another amazing aspect. The vocals have that Van Zant like down south charm and are just inherently listenable. I could listen to this band all day, they have a simple beauty that nothing can take away from them. To put it lightly...They are making brilliant music.
