Brain Hammer

Before I start this review I would like to say that Brain Hammer is probably the most metal name for a band ever. Their first song starts out with a disturbing sing song intro from a little girl who sounds like she's from Bioshock. Then the music breaks down into pure unadulterated melodeath awesomeness. The guitars are loud and have huge riffs reminiscent of Children of Bodom. The guitarist for this group is truly amazing. His fills involve a lot of technical skill and a lot of harmony. the solos are pretty cool and have this nifty jazz influence that makes them stand out. The bass is solid and adds a lot of depth to the music, this band has the bass turned up a bit louder than other melodeath groups and it really helps to deepen the sound. The drums are solid and often ominous, yet they ft in so well with the music you can barely tell you're hearing them half the time. Then the growls come in and this vocalist can cook up a doozy of a death growl. It is brutal and almost scary. Lyrically this band is pretty aggressive with topics about depression and alchohol and hating everything. Overall this group is decent and kinda cool.
OVERALL 9/10

  1. "Before I start this review I would like to say that Brain Hammer is probably the most metal name for a band ever." Matt, we need to talk.

"Their first song starts out with a disturbing sing song intro from a little girl who sounds like she's from Bioshock." THATS WHAT I THOUGHT

"Lyrically this band is pretty aggressive with topics about depression and alchohol and hating everything." Those are pretty normal lyrics. Aggressive might be, say, i dont know, graphically describing a two pound mini sledge penetrating a human skull in slo mo.
