Mat Bulman has created one of the coolest instrumental albums that I have heard in a while that wasn't Djent or Jazz. His music is certainly proggy but it avoids the Djentness that so many instrumental bands go for these days. The guitar work is excellent, the solos are very cool and show off a lot of technical and theoretical knowledge which is always fun. The rhythm guitar is also pretty solid and some of the riffs are simply awesome. To fill out the rhythm bits there is some bass work as well which is typically well done and occasionally reminds me of Seth Govan's work on Erotic Cakes. The drums seem to mostly be there for timekeeping and to make the band sound fuller, yet this is fine as the sound is guitar oriented. All in all Bulman is a great solo artist with some awesome sounds. Go check him out!
OVERALL 8.5/10
