Ter'Azur is a kind of trippy prog rock band with a very fascinating and layered sound. One might describe them as a spacier Pink Floyd with flatter vocals. This sound is almost wholly unique and it leads to some really cool sounding tracks. The guitar work is stellar and features a lot of jazzy guitar playing in the vein of Guthrie Govan but often with a bit of a Gilmour taste. Overall the guitar on this album is to die for, the technical skill is amazing. The bass work is very solid too the guitar mostly solos so the rhythm often goes to the bassist who does a great job of keeping the band together. The drum work is very light but it adds A LOT of flavor to the band. Often times you barely even notice the drums are there yet when you truly focus on them you realize how much variety they provide. The vocals are typically pretty flat and calm, almost sing song. But every once in a while there is a great chorus like the one on Exoplanet which completely contrasts the rest of the music with its sheer catchiness that me want to dance. Overall Ter'Azur is a great band and their sound is wholly unique and totally worth checking out.
OVERALL 9.5/10
