Head Takers

Head Takers is a killer thrash/groove band similar to Lamb of God and Xpulsion. They have riffs made out of sheer power and ultra violence. (Kudos to anyone who gets the reference) The guitar work is stellar with riffs that communicate a message of brutality. If this does not get you headbanging then you are not a metalhead. Even if the recording quality is low (it's only a demo) these guys rock. And the solos are too die for, my favorite is in Face The Threat where it sounds like Malmsteen was picked up to play in Toxik. The bass work is very solid and has a way of giving the sound a lot more energy. The drums are a driving force for the group with tight playing that keeps the band from falling apart into chaos. Even as is you feel the band pushing on it's limits as if it could explode at any given moment. Finally we have the vocals, the growls are fairly brutal and really effective at getting the message across. The lyrics are usually fairly intelligent and communicate some good moral ideas. In conclusion Head Takers is a brilliant thrash band that you NEED to listen too!
