Chuck Schuldiner Project

So today I'm bringing you CitiZinsane, straight from Belgium these guys have one of the coolest band names that I have ever heard. With destructive almost Pantera like riffs CitiZinsane are a group driven forward by pounds of groove and tons of energy. There are nice touches of hardcore elements too in songs like Murder which seems particularly reminiscent of the genre. I also really like the vocals style which has a modern hard rock grit with its Zakk Wylde type growls. Overall the songwriting is fairly tight too and the songs stay dynamic and interesting throughout. As a whole, CitiZinsane bring in a very solid heavy metal sound pumped up with distortion, manic power and a heavy metal might. They find a nice combination of acknowledging both underground influences as well as more mainstream ones suggesting that they can really unite a dividied scene. Something that fans of Black Label Society will love CitiZinsane is a very tight act who will plow through your ears and make a fan out of anyone even mildly interested in hard rock.
