9 Fake Reasons is a very alternative modern metal band with an intricate and well developed sound that shows a band who know what they want to do and how to do it. Crafting intricate soundscapes with their immaculate guitar leads these guys capture both mosh parts and dreamy prog parts often within the same song. Their use of clean lead vocals punctuated by harsh sing a long sections is rather unique and gives the band a flavor all of their own. Since 2011 these Parisians have been making beautiful and iconoclastic metal and it seems like they've only just started to achieve their full potential on their debut EP. I really dig the solos on song like Show Me Your Scars they certainly add a lot of flavor to the music. Known for their live energy I can certainly imagine how well some of these songs would translate to the stage. Suffice to say that I'm excited to be seeing them on Saturday.
