Acyl

Acyl

So the bands I'm planning too see Sunday night are shaping up to be interesting indeed. Today I bring you the world music metal magic that is Acyl. Featuring a 'Ethnic Metal' sound these guys use tribal drum beats and some really cool instruments (Algerian Mandolin anyone?) along with a couple 'ethnic choirs' that add a lot of flavor to the music. Toss in some hard hitting metal riffs and you have something for the ages. The blend of world music and traditional groove metal is impressive. The songwriting is simply stellar too, the way the tracks interlock and weave through the listeners ears is not something you hear every day. I'm starting to get the feeling that seeing these guys live will be a simply cathartic experience. In short, if you're looking for some cool metal that uses ideas you've probably never heard before (At least in a metal context) then this is the band for you. A group who aren't afraid to push the envelope on what metal can be I'm excited to see what the future holds for these Parisian rockers!
