So it turns out that their is another Spanish language progressive power metal band, this time called Valencia. Their music tends to be rather high flying and features a ton of victorious choruses. The sheer power metal glory of the music makes me really wish I could understand what they are saying, I get the feeling it could take on even Hammerfall with the cheese factor (Although, in my experience cheese is usually a good thing in power metal) The solos are intense to and give a lot of color to the music, I especially like the tightly controlled and classically inspired playing on the song Sin Esperanza. The epic keyboard lines add a lot of flavor to and make things a bit more epic feeling. Featuring a power metal singer to beat all power metal singers I feel like these guys really have the potential to make it big (at least within Spain) due to their undivided dedication to the magic of the genre. In conclusion, this band is further proof that the Petrucci Forum breeds stellar musicians, a group who represent all that is great about power metal and progressive music in general I would like to see more from them in the future!
