Unseelie

Some of you may remember Unseelie from my review of them back in August, suffice to say, these guys know how to create some beautiful symphonic metal that has more to it than a pretty image. Their new song Les Glas d'Un Reve is a testament to how great the genre can be and shows the magic of French metal. The words seem to flow elegantly from their singer, Anne-Emmanuelle Fournier's tongue and give the entire music a strangely spiritual vibe. In other words, the vocals are probably the main highlight of the music, not just the female cleans, but also in the way that they interact with the growls to create a beautiful soundscape that I only want to have more of. I also really dig the music video they put out with it, the pictures of the Native Americans give the music a very earthy feel and show the musicians love for the land. So, if you're looking for some killer new symphonic metal then Unseelie is something you're going to want to check out, made up of musicians who know and love the genre, I'm excited to see what the future holds for my favorite French symphonic metal band!
