A God or an Other is one of those glorious 'hipster black metal' bands that are gloriously artsy and are truly shaping the face of metal today. This is the kind of band who we will be talking about thirty years from now, there is a glorious depth to A God or an Others sound that can not be taken away, a deepset intelligence that defines the band on a variety of levels. The bands music is harsh and unforgiving, but the Cascadian beauty allows it to soldier on. Very much in the vein of groups like Altar of Plagues you can tell these guys have been working on their sound for years. (The group has in fact been together since 2010) The strange melodies crafted by this group stay with the listener and reach out to their soul, revealing the true magic that this new wave of black metal has.
