Its hard to find good old fashioned heavy metal bands these days that don't actively poke fun at the old masters (As enjoyable as that may be). So it is with joy that I bring you the rock and roll madness of Freeway Mad an English group who seem ready to relive the glory days of Priest and Maiden with a high powered rock and roll sound that is a lot of fun to listen to. The closest musical comparison I could find for these guys is D'ianno fronted Iron Maiden, they have the same unholy fusion of punk madness and heavy metal magic. Their songs like On the Run show a dedication to the old school, a lot of their lyrics that could have been ripped right out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Yet these guys are not having a laugh, they are serious about their craft, soaring to new realms on a wave of denim and leather (After all, it brought us all together) So if you want a metal band that brings you back to the roots on the wings of an eagle Freeway Mad is the band for you.
