StormBat's about page on Facebook starts with 'A day without blood is like a day without sunshine' and this actually sums up the entire mood of the band. Heavy and muddy thrash metal that crushes skulls with loud riffs and harsh vocals these guys get what it is to create metal music. Their dedication to their reckless and spine snapping sound is impressive. They simply get heads banging in a way few other groups can. One thing though, I feel like they could step up their production, make things a little less muddy, it would help them to stand out more. As is, StormBat is a pretty good band, but they have the potential to be great. Their songwriting certainly is solid and their more groove inspired tracks are among their best. They have a great forward motion and I'm excited to hear them develop their sound more. There is every reason to think that StormBat have a bright future ahead of them as long as they polish their music a bit. At times grinding, at others simply magical, StormBat definitely are a one of a kind.
