Horrid-Sacrilegious Fornication

Sacrilegious Fornication now that's a horrid album title. (Ba dum tss) Joking asides, this record represents all of the unholy power of death metal from the crypt. Blaring forward with lightning speed riffs and a colossal bottom end crunch, Sacrilegious Fornication is going to capture your heart from its beautiful brutality. Horrid have the sort of magnificently brutal sound that will grab you by the hair and smash your face into a wall. There isn't any sort of reprieve, and beauty is only found in the unadulterated madness, so let yourself be crushed by the horrid power of Horrid.

I think a large part of the appeal that Sacrilegious Fornication has for me is the riff style. The old school riffing is oftentimes reminiscent of groups like Celtic Frost. Looking at the bands bio, I found these guys have been around since 1988, that certainly adds to the legitimacy that these death metal masters have. Not a lot of groups have this sort of understanding of the underground. But Horrid have, they've seen it all. Suddenly the antediluvian power in their riffs becomes that much more impressive, these guys have been eviscerating posers and tearing out souls for twenty six years, and this record is proof that they are never going to be stopped.

Some might argue that it's weird when your death metal bands have been around for more than a quarter of a century, personally I think it only adds to the magic. Horrid have been creating unholy music for a very long time and they are still at the top of their game. The riffs here reek of putrefaction and the growls are a noble example of death metal English. Start windmilling and dive on into the pit, this is what heavy music is all about and it will rip out your intestines and then strangle you with them. Horrid have got to the spirit of death metal, so prepare to get brutal.
