Against All Odds

It's been a while since I reviewed a melodic death metal band, and it's not that I've fallen out of love with the genre as much as I can't find new stuff that pleases me. Well now I have something special for you, Against All Odds, a band who know how to bring the rage, bringing in touches of hardcore and more pure death metal into a melodeath sound. Even from the first track on their Reverbnation page, In The Inferno, the bottom end crunch of Against All Odds paired with the soaring melodic lines provided by guitar and occasionally keyboards gives the band a unique vibe. There is something very encouraging and engaging about the growls too, they have the kind of guttural might that gives death metal its pure and evil energy. Simply put, Against All Odds are creating melodeath, but in a much rawer and more brutal form than many of their peers. It may not be what you're used too, but it's certainly good and definitely interesting. So dig in and feel the crunch, Against All Odds are rising fast, and won't be stopped.
