Disturbance Project-Grita Mietras Puedas

Disturbance Project is kind of the brutally fast and wonderfully unholy grindcore that blasts its way into your heart and truly understands what this most unholy genre is all about. Sure the music is fast and violent, and occasionally a little stupid, but that's the fun of it. If you can't get the inherent humor of grindcore then I genuinely feel bad for you. Even from the first with Futuro Negro with a bridge that resembles "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" it seems clear that these guys are destined for some sort of unholy grindcore greatness. Heavy metal to slice you into little pieces.

Normally I might say that the unrelenting drum attack of Disturbance Project gets stale quickly, but in this case I feel like that's not the case. I'm not entirely sure why though. I feel like the riffs are simply that good. On top of that, the vocals have a nice little bit of variety adding in a lot of flavor to the tracks by contrasting brutal growls with shrieks a la Napalm Death. Another thing that provides relief is the accented pauses between tracks. It gives you half a breath before being ducked under once more into the incredible and wonderfully brutal attack of this band. Its impossible to not want to move, Disturbance Project forces your body into unholy motion and makes you headbang until you die.

So, let your body fall into the hyperspeed attack of a band who don't feel the need to follow the rules. Disturbance Project come out of the gate and start tearing out your ribs right away. Sure, this kind of brutality isn't for everyone, but for those of us who dig all that is heavy and unholy, well there's not much better. Spanish language grindcore is the sort of exciting thing that keeps me interested in the genre. The formula may be basic, but there is so much you can do with it, making Grita Mietras Puedas another record in a proud tradition of grindcore magic.
