Emblazoned is the kind of triumphant blackened death metal band who are going to rip your face off with a vicious attack that simply refuses to be slowed down. Emblazoned have put together something truly special with Eucharistiae Sacramentum the sort of record that is essentially gloriously evil. Emblazoned understand how to construct tight songs, be they more epic constructions like Iniquitious or faster blazing tracks like Wolven Shroud. The contrast of these songs helps to keep things interesting and proves the blackened death metal mastery of this band.
There is nothing structure about this band, even though most of the songs fall in the three to four minute range. This is the sort of band who find glory in the pure cathartic release in songs that seem to embody all that we fear in the world. This USBM act are extremely serious and falling into the brave new world they have created. Perhaps most notable are the wholly evil growls which seem to come from some sort of twisted atavistic pit. They lend a wondrous darkness to the whole thing and nicely compliment hyper speed drums. The holy blackness that Eucharistiae Sacramentum seems to be all about allows for a pure and almost sacred release of energy and frustration.
Simply put, Emblazoned know how to craft some top notch songs that will strike a fire in your heart. There is nothing more strangely beautiful than an album that can invoke such unholy darkness. It gives us the sort of release and inner peace that we need to find triumph, even in the black whirlpools that ebb and flow through our minds. Eucharistiae Sacramentum speaks to something more primal in all of us and shows the power of Emblazoned. These guys are definitely a band to watch, so turn it up and join the rituals.
