Zero Gravity - Holocaust Awaits

Holocaust Awaits (Raw Death Metal) cover art

I try to be a metal critic yet all I ever want to listen too is Morris Day and the time, I'm not sure what that has to do with the beautiful madness that is Zero Gravity's new record Holocaust Awaits but I'm sure one day someone will find it relevant. The point I'm trying to make is that we livei n a world inundated with death metal releases, so finding one that is a joy to listen too is always exciting. With Holocaust Awaits Zero Gravity don't really break any boundaries, but they certainly prove themselves to be one of India's best metal bands.

The thing is that Zero Gravity are distinct for reasons beyond the fact that their singer happens to be a chick. They speak to a larger power that death metal has as a liberating force. Sure they don't blow your mind, but they are crafting something that any fan of the genre can dig in too and love. There is a clear passion for the music built into the sound of Holocaust Awaits and from the creepy intro to the chunky riffs found throughout you get a true sense of the perverted majesty of this band. Though the vocal delivery isn't always spot on and some of the riffs seem a little recycled, Holocaust Awaits gets at the spirit of death metal. Zero Gravity are not going to follow your alleged 'rules' instead they are going to rip your face off with the force of an atomic explosion, and quite frankly, I like it that way.

Fast, vicious, and just a little bit loose around the edges, Holocaust Awaits is one of the best straight up death metal records to ever come out of India. These guys clearly understand what they want to do and how to do it. Dig in too the sound and come out a wiser man, you know you want too. Zero Gravity will melt your face off and hold you in thrall to the eternal might of death metal. Bend your knee and prepare yourself for the apocalyptic metal meltdown, the time for you to meet your doom has arrived!
