Biotoxic Warfare - Lobotomized

Today has been nothing if not stressful so it's kind of cool that I get the chance to kick back, releax and write about some good old thrash metal. Biotoxic Warfare understand the traditional tropes of thrash metal and when they come forward with their gutting attack and precise riffs you get a sense of doom. There is something magically evil about the music on Lobotomized that leaves you on your knees and begging for more. Biotoxic Warfare get what thrash is all about and when they get going, you can't stop them.

From the epic intro solo of Mors Indecepta to the stunning riff that really kicks off the song, you immediately know you're in for a good time. The fact of the matter is, this record just sounds good and it is easy to fall into. Biotoxic Warfare understand how to craft a strong sounding thrash epic and it leaves me begging for more. As you get into that first circle pit inducing rhythmic attack, you can't help but smile. Biotoxic Warfare understand the heart wrenching majesty of the genre, and while they can go full speed ahead, they're not afraid to slow up too and add something a bit more emotional, making Lobotomized a full bodied artistic achievement.

At the end of the day, this album is engaging and it will keep your headbanging for many a spin. I'm at least three listens deep right now and I can't help but smile at how this record is perpetually fresh. Though it may play on old tropes, it does everything right. While maybe more innovation would spice it up, as is, Biotoxic Warfare have put out an extremely fun and serviceable record. So get read to wreck shit and delve into the mystical blackened abyss that makes up the Lobotomized sound, your doom has arrived!
