The year 2015 is upon us and with that the sympathy that I had for the weak in the previous year is being abandoned, forgotten. It's an emotion that I can not let rule my mind, body or soul. Instead, I, as a human, have to trample the weak sheep that stand in my way and what better way than to do it with a soundtrack that perfectly imitates those acts. Welcome in stage left, the barbarians of death, unholiness and with a roar so loud Satan himself might coward down, Heaving Earth.
"Denouncing the Holy Throne", the second full-length from these Prague natives, is one hell of a wretched ride. It's as if I was literally thrown into a burning tower inside the ninth circle of hell. Surpassing greed, lust and gluttony, the realm of hate, blasphemy and destruction is where I resided for eternity. Walkways that have millions upon millions of corpses piled to the endless black sky above. As you walk through the maze of rape, revenge and chaos, the melting walls that consume you seem to breed with your insides, conquering all that your mind might conjure up.
So, what exactly should you expect besides that images painted above in this record? Fairly simple people, you are presented twelve very brutal, highly intense tracks that are filled with non-stop stimulation for that metal loving mind of yours. Heaving Earth gives you, as a listener, very little time to heal, prepare or fix what it might of killed inside you from the previous track before they pummel you with left and right hooks, yet again.
Brilliant song writing on all ends of this release and while some people are going to bitch about certain things that are on "Denouncing the Holy Throne", (let's be honest, metal heads are a group of picky sons-a-bitches that are ungrateful the majority of the time) this record literally has nothing wrong with it. It's a death metal record, it is exactly what it needs and has to be. A spiraling downfall to hell that is unforgiving, honest and will do anything it has to do just to break your neck by the time the record is done spinning
All I can say is this; if the year two thousand fifteen is going to start out with a record such as this, I can not wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. "Denouncing the Holy Throne" is the front runner to this destructive, hell-bent kind of year in metal and I'm riding piggyback with demons strapped to both sides of me. May the world feel our wrath.
