One of the things I love about metal is how you can occasionally stumble upon great bands featuring former members of other acts you love. Biggus Riffus is one of those bands featuring former members of The Ocean Collective, Conan and Groan, a pretty nutty pedigree to be sure. The crushing attack of the band is counterbalanced by a few almost 80s heavy metal tinged moments that are shockingly powerful and add a sense of fun to the music. The fact of the matter is that Biggus Riffus know how to control both ends of the metal spectrum, with flashy solos counterbalancing destructive riffs. The quality of the songwriting is stunning and will leave you scraping your jaw from the floor, if the few singles they have released are any indication then Biggus Riffus are tuned on to something great and will refuse to be forgotten for years to come. This may very well be the future of heavy metal, so hold on tight and enjoy the ride!
