Wrist Deep

Pescador cover art

Wrist Deep is one of those gloriously heavy sludge bands that help to make the scene in my new home of Brooklyn so goddamn good. Incredibly heavy and wonderfully demented there is something strangely addictive about what Wrist Deep do. Mixing their unique brand of sludge metal with touches of powerviolence and hardcore Wrist Deep are able to relate to the common punk with music that keeps things wonderfully bleak. The inherent sense of nihilism that helps to define this band and gives their choruses that unique punch is incredible - it allows you to get into powerful grooves whilst simultaneously feasting on the flesh of a thousand impossibly heavy riffs. What I'm trying to say is that Wrist Deep have come up with some really concepts and have an artistic vision that could take them far. Their music is simply stunning and we're left trying to understand one of the darkest things to hit Brooklyn in a good long while. Wrist Deep have the potential to go far - the question is - can you take the plunge?
