Wrong - S/T

Wrong is one of the most potent noise rock bands I've heard in a while, fully aware of their own grime and yet willing to help establish something greater. The beauty of this band is that they are able to fuse hardcore and alt metal ideas onto a more traditional rock basis making for music that is vicious, unrelenting, and way too much fun. Given that the band is founded by ex members of Torche, Kylesa, and Capsule I gotta say, this is pretty much exactly what I was expecting it to sound like, and I mean that as a compliment.

The band is at their best when they embrace their most chaotic and demented elements. The fundamental issue that Wrong face though is when they deny their birthright and go too far in a traditional rock direction. What I'm saying is that Wrong is best when Wrong embrace their... well... Wrongness. These guys are doing some very exciting things, some of which haven't really been done in the world of rock and roll before. Furthermore - they are executing concisely and virtually no other rock bands in this day and age are concise anymore. That alone makes Wrong a far more valid artistic statement than many of their peers releases.

Expansive and exciting, in a world that has gone done a hole of stoner rock bullshit Wrong are standing up and doing what's right for the cause. Wrong is more than just another rock record, it is a way forward in a genre that has been desperate for ways forward for years now. It's hard not to fall in love with what has been done here, because it is different and visceral. So sit down and turn this bad boy up, Wrong is going to keep your fist pumping from start to finish. This is a beast of an album, so hop on the bull and ride it into oblivion.
