My Sleeping Karma - Mela Ananda - Live

I feel like instrumental stoner rock is one of those things that really shines in the live sphere. While there are certainly bands in the genre that I can dig doing it on the record it's only live where the music really gets the chance to breathe and live up to its full potential. that's how I've always felt about My Sleeping Karma, a band I've seen live a handful of times but never had much luck delving into their records. That's what makes this new offering, Mela Ananda - Live a truly exciting one and one I think I will be coming back to time and time again.

Mela Ananda- Live certainly strays on the long side of things, but what is My Sleeping Karma without long songs? The bands willingness to let the music really flow and toss in bits of powerful improvisation makes this album beautifully meditative and really tapping into the Indian heritage that the group has always proudly flaunted. The mix itself - traditionally a problem for live records - is absolutely on point. The crowd noise that you do get is just enough to add atmosphere but not enough to make you feel like you are cut out. It's easy to get lost in what My Sleeping Karma have done here, and that's what makes this album addictive.

An album that really acts as a sort of summary for all that has made My Sleeping Karma great over the years. You get the breadth of emotions and potent sounds that resonate out over the ages as well as a hint at what the future of the band could hold. There is something fundamentally timeless about the sonic creations of My Sleeping Karma as they shift from dark to light, stoner rock to straight up post musical meanderings. Mela Ananda - Live is the sort of rock record you can't help but to love and dig into now and forevermore.

  2. It’s not completely hopeless. There have been some breakthrough technologies developed in recent years. They can be very effective but are dependent on why you snore. https://sleepseed.com/
