Hooded Menace have always been one of those cult doom acts who consistently knock it out of the park with some of the best songwriting known to man and a sense of forward motion that you can't help but to love. Beyond that - Hooded Menace have always fascinated me as a fan because of how monolithic their sound is. when I was initially getting into this band it was hard to believe that something could sound so huge, and furthermore that the band could do that time and time again, but here we are with their fifth full length and I'm just as impressed as ever.
There is something incredibly deep and fascinating about the sonic majesty of Hooded Menace. This is a band who consistently develop and enhance their sound every which way, who expand sonic borders but who do it all with their unique brand of death doom staying intact. As intimidating and over the top that this band can be, it's hard not to fall in love with the crushing unreality routinely painted by these stunners and the transcendent majesty that comes from their counterbalance between pummeling and powerful death metal with potent melodic content that leaves you scraping your jaw off the floor.
Never before have Hooded Menace soared to such heights and visited such demonic depths. Never before have Hooded Menace taken you by the throat and forced you to swallow the bitter pill for their sound like this. this is a record that continues to grow on you and puts a legion of imitators to shame because Hooded Menace are one of the greatest in the genre and they know it. their authoritative assault and stunning sonic poetry enlightens and fascinates. It shows constant growth from a group who have forever changed their scene.
