Esoctrilihum - The Telluric Ashes Of The O Vrth Immemorial Gods

Something strange and potent is brewing on French shores. A veritable beast has awoken from tis slumber and seems to be pushing towards blackened death metal supremacy. It is the sort of thing that is going to terrify the listener and drag them to hell. It is Esoctrilihum. Their fourth offering, The Telluric Ashes Of The O Vrth Immemorial Gods speaks to a band who are on a totally different level. Totally lost in their transcendent madness and embracing their inner demons, Esoctrilihum have crafted something horrifying here.

This is a record that is, for lack of a better word, larger than life. Not only is it grandiose and glorious in its depravity though but it also continually speaks to a group who seem to eagerly push towards strange new heights. Immaculately put together, These I, Voidhanger signees have crafted something almost otherworldly in their overall approach. The Telluric Ashes Of The O Vrth Immemorial Gods tells tales of forgotten and triumphant spirits. It is grotesque in its scale and it is going to overwhelm you the deeper you delve. Even from the first listen it is clear that you are going into a realm of cosmic horror from which there can be no mistake.

I am, and have been for years now, deeply enamored with the inherent bombast of Esoctrilihum. They are a band who continually not only impress but leave you in awe. I think with acts like this and Tchornobog there is a tendency to leave you scraping your jaw from the floor. The Telluric Ashes Of The O Vrth Immemorial Gods is a frequently terrifying listen, one which continually pushes for ever scarier and more grandiose landscapes. Decrying tales of dark beasts and demented realities, this is an intimidating, but addictive listen.
